Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 battery — quick answers

Which defibrillator does this battery fit?
The XBTAED001A Intellisense battery fits the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 only (semi-automatic and fully automatic). It must not be used in any other AED.

How long does it last?
A 4-year standby life once installed, and a 5-year shelf life from manufacture if stored unused. Replace it before the 4-year standby period ends.

How many shocks can it deliver?
Up to 500 shocks at 150V on a full battery — and at least 9 more even after the AED signals a low battery.

How do I know when to replace it?
The G5’s Rescue Ready indicator turns red and the unit beeps. Note the battery shows a “manufactured on” date, not an expiry — so record the date you install it and replace within 4 years.

How do I change it?
A simple clip-out, clip-in: open the compartment, remove the old battery, press the new one in until it clicks, and check the Rescue Ready indicator glows green.

Can I use a cheaper third-party battery?
No — only a genuine Intellisense battery triggers the G5’s daily self-test correctly and guarantees the energy needed in an emergency, and a non-genuine battery voids your Cardiac Science warranty.
